Why does the label say "alcohol free", and then benzyl alcohol is listed as an ingredient?
The statement "alcohol free" is defined by the Food and Drug Administration to refer only to ethyl alcohol, and Theradent meets the requirements of that definition. The benzyl alcohol that appears on the ingredient statement is a different kind of alcohol that is present in very small quantities as a preservative.
